Why I ran for School Board?
Winston-Salem is my home and where I received my public education, and where I first began working with young people.
Our current political climate both statewide and nationally is extremely polarized, but ensuring that young people receive the best education possible should always be paramount. None of us can afford to sit on the sidelines because the future of our nation is quite literally at stake.
That’s why I ran for School Board in 2018, why I sought an appointment to the board in 2021, and became the youngest school board member in the history of my school system; to bring additional energy and urgency to the work of advocating and ensuring that our children receive a primary and secondary education that equips them with the tools to shake off the shackles of limitation and achieve their wildest dreams.
